Battalion : 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of George Spencer and Nina Cartwright, of 52 Bowling Street, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a railway guard prior to enlisting 2nd June 1915 at Mansfield. He went to France 6th March 1916 and suffered severe gunshot wounds to his chest 3rd September 1916. He died of these wounds, 10th September 1916, at No. 35 Casualty Clearing Station, Doullens, France.
