Battalion: 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Nottingham, Son of William James and Mary Carter, of 24, Holme Road, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France on 25th February 1915. He was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
