Son of Arthur George James and Stella Carter, of 46, Garden Road, Dunstable. He enlisted on 24th May 1915 at Luton. He was transferred to the 2/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 27th July 1917 and was killed in action, 6th December 1917, age 20. whilst in the line near Ribecourt, France.
