Private Ernest Carter

Battalion : 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Nottingham Son of Rueben and Charlotte Carter of 66, Lamartine Street, Nottingham. He was a mechanic for the Post Office Telephone Company prior to enlisting on 11th May 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and was killed in action, 13th October 1915, in the attack on the Hohenzollern Redoubt, France.
