Born at Newton, Bedfordshire. Son of George and Sarah Carrington. He was a Coal Miner prior to enlisting on 20th October 1914 at Eckington, Yorkshire. He went to France on 18th August 1915 and was awarded the Good Conduct Badge on the 14th of November 1916. He died, on 22nd January 1918, age 26, from Chronic Aortic Disease, Endocarditis and Bronchitis, at 13th General Hospital Boulogne, France.
