Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of John and Grace Carrington, of 27 Eastville Street, Nottingham. Husband of Ada Mary Carrington, of 42 Oldham Street, Carlton Road, Nottingham. He was a painter prior to enlisting on 12th May 1915 at Nottingham. He went to France on 6th March 1916 and was killed in action, 10th October 1916, in the attack on the German positions at the Schwaben Redoubt, France during the Battle of the Somme.
