Son of James Edward and Lydia Carr, of 25 Butler Street, Ilkeston. He enlisted 26th May 1915 at Derby, went to France 13th February 1916 and was killed in action, 20th July 1916, by German shellfire whilst serving in the trenches near Bellacourt, France.
