Corporal Henry Percy Carr

Battalion: 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of William Henry and Rhoda Carr, of 81, Barnby Gate Newark-On-Trent, Nottinghamshire. He was a railway clerk prior to enlisting on 19th January 1915 at Newark. He went to France on 19th September 1916 and was appointed Lance Corporal on 24th May 1917 and promoted to Corporal on 8th August 1917. He sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen and was treated at No. 1 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station, Pernes, France 1st June 1918. He died of these wounds on 8th June 1918, aged 22.
