Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of William Henry and Jane Pertwee Carey, of Newcastle Drive, Nottingham. Educated at Repton School. Received a commission in August 1914 and went to Gallipoli 20th July 1915 and was killed in action, 7th April 1915, age 19, at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli.
