Born and lived at Todmorden, Yorkshire. Son of William and Elizabeth Ann Calvert; Husband of Charlotte Calvert, of 54, Industrial Street, Todmorden. he was a painter and decorator prior to enlisting at Halifax. He was killed in action, 4th November 1918, aged 35, during the attack on the German line near Sebourg, France.
