Private Harry Caldwell

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of Charles and Alice Caldwell, of Blacks Yard, Houndsgate, Nottingham. he was a general labourer prior to enlisting on 3rd April 1907 at Nottingham. He served in India from 7th July 1908 to 2nd October 1914. He went to France on 4th November 1914 and was killed in action, on 26th October 1916, whilst serving in the line near Trones Wood, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
