Born At Shipley, Yorkshire. Son of Arthur R. and Fanny G. Byles; Husband of Mabel Florence Byles, of 7, Kidbrooke Park Road, Blackheath, London. He was commissioned into the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, on 1st April 1915 and promoted to Captain in July 1915. He went to France on 29th May 1916. He died of wounds, on 11th December 1917, aged 32, received on the 30th November 1917.
