Born and lived at Ballingdon, Sudbury, Suffolk. Son of Annie Byford, of 4, Bulmer Road, Ballingdon, Sudbury, Suffolk. He was a mat maker prior to enlisting at Luton, Bedfordshire. He died from gas poisoning, 21st November 1917.
