Battalion: 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Edward and Elizabeth Buxton, of Newton, Derbyshire. Husband of Florence Priscilla Buxton, of 63, Queen Street, Pilsley, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 24th June 1916 at Chesterfield. He went to France on 9th May 1917 and was killed in action, on 26th September 1917, age 23, in the attack at St. Julian, Belgium.
