Born and lived at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of William and Eliza Buxton, of Brampton, Derbyshire. He was an assistant greengrocer prior to enlisting at Staveley, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Morchies, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
