Battalion: 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Biggin by Hartington, Buxton, Derbyshire. Son of Harold and Emma Buxton, of Biggin by Hartington, Buxton, Derbyshire. He was a brickyard labourer prior to enlisting at Ashbourne, Derbyshire. He went to France on 19th August 1915 and was killed in action, on 13th August 1917, age 21, during a raid on the German line near Philosophe, France.
