Born at Aldershot, Hampshire. Son of Walter and Annie Buxton, of 3, Furnace Hill, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was an urban ware potter’s Labourer prior to enlisting at Chesterfield. He was awarded the Military Medal, Londo Gazette Date, 2nd November 1917. He was killed in action, 4th October 1917, age 21, during the attack near Poelcappelle, Belgium.
