Born and lived at Retford, Nottinghamshire Son of Joseph and Lydia Button, of 10, Myrtle Street, Retford, Nottinghamshire. He was a domestic gardener prior to enlisting He served in Gallipoli and died of pneumonia 1st November 1915, aged 21.

Buried : Hill 10 Cemetery, Turkey. Plot 3, Row E, Grave 8.
