Private John William Buttfield

Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

 Born at Sheerness, Kent. Son of John Edward and Lily Buttfield, of 21 Saunders Street, Chatham, Kent. He enlisted 17th September 1908 at Maidstone, Kent and served in India, 8th January 1909 to 2nd October 1914. He went to France 4th November 1914 and was killed in action, 5th February 1915, whilst in the line at La Gorgue, near Richebourg, France.
