Battalion: 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at new Barnet, Hertfordshire. Son of William and Matilda Butterworth, of 31, East Barnet Road, New Barnet, Hertfordshire. He was a Marine Store Dealer prior to enlisting at New Barnet, 12th December 1915. He went to France 26th August 1916 and was killed in action, 12th August 1918, age 30, whilst serving in the line near Bellacourt, France.
