Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Hasland, Derbyshire.  Son of Harry Willy and Sarah Butt, of 11 Railway Terrace, Midland Cottages, Storforth Lane, Hasland. He was a brickmaker prior to enlisting at Chesterfield. He went to France 24th March 1915 and was killed in action during the attack on Rouge De Bout, France, 9th May 1915 during the Second Battle of Artois.
