Lance Corporal Bernard Griffin Butler

Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of William Butler, of 60, Dennison Street, Old Radford, Nottingham; Husband of Bertha Eley (formerly Butler), of 19, Elm Grove, Blue Bell Hill Road, Nottingham. He was a lace factory hand prior to enlisting 9th November 1913 at Nottingham. He went to France 4th January 1915 and was appointed Lance Corporal 13th April 1915 and was killed in action, 9th May 1915, age 25, in the attack at Rouge Bancs, France.
