Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of John G. Buswell, of 5 Milner Road, Sherwood, Nottingham. He was a Lace Designer prior to enlisting on 3rd June 1915 at Nottingham. He was appointed Lance Corporal 26th June 1915 and promoted Corporal 27th July 1915. He went to France on 6th March 1916, was promoted to Sergeant on 17th August 1916 and was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, during the attack near Beaumont Hamel, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
