Battalion: 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of George and Emily Bush of Canal Side, Cossall, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 2nd November 1914 at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He went to France on 1st March 1915 and was killed in action on 1st July 1916, in the attack at Gommecourt, France on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
Buried: Bienvillers Military Cemetery, France. Plot 21, Row H, Grave 10.
