Battalion: 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of James and Harriett Burton, of 68, Park Lane, Old Basford, Nottingham. He was a rubber coverer in an elastic web factory prior to enlisting at Nottingham.  He was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, aged 20, in the attack near Beaumont Hamel, France during the Battle of the Somme.
