Battalion: 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Nottingham. Son of Frank Augustus and Annette Burton, of Hardy’s Drive, Gedling, Nottingham. He was a cowman at Intake Farm. Mansfield prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He was killed in action, 9th August 1915, age 29, in the attack at Ismail Oglu Tepe, (Chocolate Hill), Gallopli, Turkey.
