Born 23rd March 1899 at Sheffield. Son of Herbert Jackson Burton and Annie Elizabeth Burton, of 37 Priory Road, Sheffield. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 26th February 1918. He was killed in action, 14th October 1918, in the attack at Cable Copse, Belgium.
