Born at Hucknall Nottinghamshire. Son of George And Sarah Burton, of Hucknall. Husband of Henrietta Burton, of 107, Sherwood Street, Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlistment at Mansfield. He died of illness on 12th April 1916, age 33.
