Born and lived at Hessle, Yorkshire. Son of Charles William and Alice Maude Mary Burton, of 13 Trinity Grove, Northgate, Hessle. He was an errand boy prior to enlisting at Hull. He was killed in action, 26th September 1917, in the attack near Vlamertinghe, Belgium.
