Born at Nottingham and lived at 106, St. Alban’s Road, Bulwell, Nottingham. Son of David Thomas and Ellen Burton, of 94, Minerva Street, Bulwell, Nottingham. He was a hosiery worker prior to enlisting at Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. He was killed in action, 31st July 1917, aged 22, in the attack on German Positions near St. Julian, near Ypres, Belgium, in the Battle of Pilkem Ridge, during the 3rd Battle of Ypres. (He was most likely attached to either the 16th or 17th Battalions)
