Battalion: 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Stapleford, Nottinghamshire. Husband of Ethel Burrows. He was a shunter in an ironworks prior to enlisting at Beeston. He was killed in action, 24th November 1916, during a German barrage whilst employed on a working party to the north of Beaumont Hamel, France during the Battle of the Somme.
Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
