Lance Corporal James Philipson Burrow

Battalion: 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of Myles and Isabella Burrow, of Sparkbridge, Ulverston, Lancashire. He was a police constable prior to enlisting on 12th January 1917 at Whitehall, London. He was appointed Lance Corporal, 22nd October 1917 and went to France on 27th March 1918. He was transferred to the 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 30th March 1918 and was killed in action, 15th April 1918, age 26, during a German attack near Kemmel, Belgium.
