Battalion: 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Robert and Elizabeth Burman, of High Street, Needham Market, Suffolk. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting on 14th February 1916 at Stowmarket, Suffolk. He went to France on 16th July 1916 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1917, in the attack to the west of Lens, France.
