Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of John and Emma Burkitt, Husband of Mary J. Burkitt, of 10, Leicester Street, Nottingham. He was a wallpaper warehouseman prior to enlisting at Nottingham. Died of wounds, 24th April 1917, aged 31, whilst a prisoner of war.
