Born at Radford, Nottingham. Son of Thomas Chadburn Burgin and Martha Burgin, of Swanwick, Derbyshire; Husband of Jane Burgin, of 182, Uttoxeter Old Road, Derby. He was a labourer for the carriage and wagon department on the Midland Railway prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France 14th July 1915 and died of wounds, 23rd April 1917, age 35, at No. 13 General Hospital Boulogne, France.
