Private Charles Arthur Burgess

Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of George and Rose Emily Burgess, of 74, Bolebridge Street, Tamworth, Staffordshire. He was a labourer prior to enlisting 24th November 1916 at Litchfield, Staffordshire. He went to France on 9th May 1917 and was transferred to the 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 2nd July 1917. He was killed in action, 16th September 1917, during the attack at Zillebeke, Belgium.
