Private Owen Stanley Burchell

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

He  Lived at 25 Godstone Road, Whyteleafe, Surrey. Son of George and Amelia Burchell, of Buthers Farm, Saffron Walden; Husband of Millie Burchell, of 5, Pains Hill, Limpsfield, Surrey. He was a car man prior to enlisting on 8th February 1915 at Woolwich.  He went to France on 6th May 1916 and was transferred to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 15th October 1917 and was killed in action, 26th March 1918, age 29, whilst the battalion was withdrawing under a heavy German attack towards Rosieres, France.
