Born at Cardington, Bedfordshire. Son of Hugh and Eliza Bunyan, of 16 Park Place, Luton. He was a straw worker prior to enlisting on 12th July 1910 at Bedford. He went to France on 9th September 1914 and was promoted to Corporal on 20th October 1914 and Sergeant on 22nd March 1915. He was killed in action, on 9th August 1915, during the attack at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
