Son of Dr Bullivant, of Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted as a Private in 1915 and went to France on 28th February 1915, and was wounded at Hooge, Belgium in 1915.  He was commissioned Second Lieutenant 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 4th January 1916. He was wounded near Bethune, on 3rd July 1916 and died of wounds, on 21st July 1916, aged19.
