Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of Alfred and Alice Bucknall, of 53, Hipper Street Chesterfield. He was an iron foundry steam-hammer driver prior to enlisting at Chesterfield. He went to France on 14th July 1915 and was killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 19, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
