Private Rowland Buckley

Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Pistyll, Caernarvonshire, Wales. Son of Joseph and Ellen Buckley, of 12, Pistyll Terrace, Pistyll. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting 17th March 1917 at Bangor into the 65th Training Reserve Battalion. He went to France on 7th December 1917 and was posted to the 19th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers, 11th December 1917. He was transferred to the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 6th April 1918 and died, 19th August 1918,  of gas poisoning at 55 Casualty Clearing station, Daours, France.
