Son of Samuel and Emma Bryan, of 43, Stockbrook Street, Derby. He was a labourer prior to enlisting on 14th January 1908. He went to France 8th of September 1914 and suffered gunshot wounds to his right hand and arm, on the 19th/20th of September 1914, and was transferred to England on Hospital Ship Asturias, on the 28th of September 1914. He was discharged unfit for military service, on 16th March 1915. He died on 15th March 1917, aged 27.
