Private Fred Bryan

Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Shirebrook, Derbyshire. Son of Timothy and Fanny Bryan, of 7 Field Drive, Shirebrook. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He went to France on 12th August 1915 and was killed in action, on 3rd March 1916, during the attack near the Ypres/ Commines Canal, Belgium.

His brother Private John Stephen Bryan, 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, also fell in the Great War.
