Born and lived at Rolleston, Nottinghamshire. Son of Charles and Mary Hannah Bryan, of Rolleston. He enlisted at Newark, Nottinghamshire, went to France 28th June 1915 and was killed in action, 15th March 1917, age 23, whilst the battalion was following the German retreat at Rettamoy Farm, near Gommecourt, France.
