British War and Victory MedalHe lived at 22, Trinity Street, Bellevue, Shrewsbury. Son of Mrs Mary Broxton, of Plealey, Pontesford, Shrewsbury. He was a butcher prior to enlisting on 15th June 1915 at Shrewsbury. He went to France on 22nd March 1917 and suffered a gunshot wound to his left forearm, 26th September 1917. He was treated at 10 Casualty Clearing Station, Remy Siding, Belgium and then the 3rd Canadian Hospital, Boulogne, before being transferred to England, 27th September 1917. He returned to France on 30th March 1918 and was transferred to the 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 9th April 1918. He was killed in action, 14th October 1918, aged 21, in the attack at cable Copse, Belgium.
