Lance Corporal William Brownlow

British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived in Nottingham. Son of H. and Mary Brownlow, of Sneinton, Nottingham; Husband of Emily Boyington (formerly Brownlow), of Beeston Rylands, Beeston, Nottinghamshire. He was a fish and fruit hawker prior to enlisting on 27th April 1908 at Nottingham.  He went to France on 15th March 1915 and was appointed Lance Corporal 3rd May 1915. He was killed in action, 9th May 1915, age 26, in the attack at Rouge Bancs, France.
