Born at Clarborough, Nottinghamshire and lived at Radford, Nottinghamshire. Son of William and Ada Brownlow, of 35, Ronald Street, Radford, Nottingham. He was a fitter prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He joined the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and then was posted to the 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He died of wounds 19th November 1916.
