Battalion: 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Shireoaks, Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Son of William and Hannah Brown, of The Poplars, Shireoaks, Worksop. He was a coal miner at Shireoaks Colliery prior to enlisting 30th October 1914 at Worksop. He was killed in action, 26th September 1917, age 32, during the attack at St. Julian, near Ypres, Belgium.
