Born and lived in Nottingham. Lived at 38 Bovill Street, Hartley Road, Nottingham. Son of Arthur G. and Sarah Brown. He was a professional soldier and enlisted on 26th May 1909 at Derby. He went to France on 4th November 1914 and was killed in action, on 11th March 1915 during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, France.
