British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalHusband of Florence Brown, of 24, Warkworth Street, Backworth, Newcastle-On-Tyne. Son of Charles William and Anne Brown, of 29 Private Yard, Beeston, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting 26th October 1908 at Nottingham.  He served in Gallipoli from the 15th of September 1915.  He went to France 28th June 1916. He died of wounds, 28th September 1916, aged 25, at No. 3 Casualty Clearing Station, Puchevillers, France.
